Kindergarten Cooks Turkey

Mrs. King asked the Kindergartners how to cook a Thanksgiving Turkey.
This is what they said:

Morning Class

Ashley - Cut the wrapper off the turkey. Then put it in the oven at 6 degrees. Cook it from lunchtime until dinnertime. While it's cooking, soak up the gravy and squirt it on the turkey.

Freddy - Take the white pin out of the turkey. Now put it in the oven at 90 degrees for half an hour. Get everything else ready while it cooks. Sometimes Dad sneaks a taste to see if it's done.

Rachel - First put some sauce on the turkey. Then put it in the oven at medium hot. It takes one hour to cook. If it looks a lot better than when you put it in, then it's done.

Nicky C. - Put the turkey in a tray, and then put it in the oven. Turn the oven on to 50 degrees. Keep it in for 9 minutes. You feel it with your oven mitt on to see if it is hot enough. If it's still a little bit cold, put it back in the oven for 20 minutes. Then feel it again. If it's warm enough, let it cool off.

Sarah M. - Buy a turkey at Pathmark. That's where I always buy mine. Go home and stick it in the oven. Turn the oven up to 3 degrees. Cook the turkey for about 4 minutes. Open the oven and look to see if it's done. It should look very juicy and yummy.

Abby - Put the turkey on a plate and push it in the oven. Turn the oven on to 80 degrees. Cook it for one second. It's done when the people are here.

Anna - You put the turkey in the oven. The turkey legs should be on top. The oven should be very hot. It should be up to the red. Cook it until 7:00.

Brendan - Make sure the stove is warm. Put the turkey in when the stove is in the middle of hot, about 2 degrees. Leave it in for 3 minutes. That's how long my Mom cooks it. It looks like a regular turkey when it is done.

Dane - Put the turkey in the oven at 100 degrees. Set the timer for a couple of minutes. Then squirt some juice over the turkey. Set the timer for a couple more minutes. When the timer gets to zero, the turkey is done.

Dylan - Put salt on the turkey. Then put it in the oven. Turn the oven on to 8 degrees. Now cook the turkey for 8 hours.

Ally - Buy the turkey at the store and put it in the refrigerator until Thanksgiving Day. Put it in the oven at 20 degrees. Let it stay in for 2 hours. Take it out and put the juice on it to make it really good.

Laura - Someone kills the turkey and then you buy it. Put it in a pan. Cook it in the oven at 100 degrees for 50 seconds. Then you eat it!

Danny - I think you cook it in the oven. The oven has to be really hot, like 100 degrees. It takes forever to cook. Take it out at 1:00.

Makayla - Put a little bit of salt on the turkey. Then put it in the oven, a really hot oven, at 3 degrees. Keep it in there 4 hours. When it has some little burnt pieces on it, it is done.

Desiree - Wash the turkey with water and then dry it. Put it in the oven. The oven should be at 5 degrees. Leave it in 6 hours. It's done when the bell dings. It should be really hot!

Nicholas D. - Turn on the stove and put the turkey in it. Put the stove on 4 or 5 degrees. Wait until the stove beeps for it to be done. It takes a lot of minutes. It should be light brown.

Richard - Put salt around the turkey. Now put it in the oven. Turn the oven on to 6 degrees. Cook it for 10 minutes. When everyone is hungry, it is done.

Afternoon Class

Melanie - Get a turkey at the store. Put it in the oven at 15 degrees. Cook it for 10 minutes. It will be delicious and yummy. It will be skinny when it is done.

Jake - You have to go hunt for a turkey. Bring it home, but make sure it is dead. Cook it in the oven at 6 degrees. Give it 5 minutes to let it cook. When the two legs look like bones, it is done.

Lauren - First put some salt on the turkey. Then you bake it in an oven at 50 degrees. It only takes 15 minutes to cook. It is done when it is nice and roasted and steamy and hot.

Sean - Put some stuffing in the turkey. Use the oven to cook it. Turn the oven on to 41 degrees. Cook it for 4102 minutes. That's a long time. It should be light brown and super-duper hot!

Nick K. - You cook a turkey with the legs on. Put it in the oven. The oven should be really, really hot, about 2 degrees. Cook it for 3 days. It will look a little black when it is ready to eat.

Kristen - Cook it in a pan of hot water. Cook for 5 seconds. It should be hot. It should be 5 degrees when it is done. The turkey is brown now.

Dylan H. - You can't eat a live turkey, so you have to kill it. You cook it in the oven at 70 degrees. It is really hot in the oven! Leave it in for an hour. It comes out kind of tan-ish. Then you eat it!

Joey - You cook the turkey by boiling it in a pan on the stove. Boil it for 10 hours I think. Then set it out on the table and cut it up.

Gabby - First wash the turkey with water in the sink. Then put it in the really hot oven at 7 degrees. Leave it there for one hour. If it is warm, it is good.

Christian - Buy a turkey at the food store. Cook it in the oven. The oven should be pretty hot. I think 50 degrees. Leave it in for 5 minutes. If it is all juicy and it tastes good, it's done.

Vincent - Cook the turkey in a pot with some seeds. Put on top of the stove and cook it for 10 minutes. It gets bigger when it is done.

Julia - Buy your turkey at Acme. Put it in the oven at 30 degrees. Cook it from when you wake up until the afternoon. Put a tester in the turkey to see if it is done. It should be big and fat.

Sarah - First, keep it in the refrigerator. Take it out and put it in the oven. Put the oven on 15 degrees. Keep the turkey in for 60 minutes. It should be warm and brown. Take out the bones before you eat it.

Amber - Go to Acme to get a turkey. Cook it in the microwave for 5 minutes. It should be hot, around 10 degrees. It should be brown on the top and the bottom.

Anthony - Get a turkey at the store. Put it in the big oven. Turn the oven on to 8 degrees. Leave it in for 10 minutes. It should look wet and brown. You need to see how hot it is by sticking a needle in it. It should be 8 degrees.

Gregory - Put some gravy on the turkey and then put it in the oven. Turn the oven on to 2 degrees so it gets hot. Cook the turkey for 2 minutes. It should feel warm when it's done and it should be brown.

Alexis - You put stuffing and gravy on the turkey before you put it in the oven. The oven needs to be at 15 degrees. Cook it for 12 minutes. It's done when it looks like a regular turkey, all brown and orange.
