Benjamin P. Feller, 78,
Former resident of Folsom, retired Principal

Benjamin P. Feller, 78, of Elizabethtown, Pa., died February 8, 2002, in Martin Memorial Medical Center, Stuart, Florida.

A native of Cissna Park, Illinois and son of the late Lucien and Katie Hari Feller, he served in the Navy during World War II and then attended the University of Pennsylvania. He began his teaching career at Ridley Park High School in 1949 and was actively involved in the athletics program as a baseball coach. In 1963 he became Principal of the Tome Street Elementary School in Ridley Park then in 1965 became Principal of Lakeview Elementary School in Ridley Park until his retirement in 1983. He was also a part-time photographer, specializing in candid weddings.

He was a winter resident of Jensen Beach, Florida, and spent summers at Ocean View Resort in New Jersey. After living in Folsom for 50 years, he moved to the Masonic Home in Elizabethtown in 2000.

Ben's hobbies included sports, photography, fishing, and crewel embroidery, for which he won several Blue Ribbons at Florida Fairs. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge # 578 in Prospect Park, Pa.

He attended Immanuel Lutheran Church in Palm City, Fla., and was a long time member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Woodlyn.

Survivors: Wife of 55 years, Verda Behrens Feller of Elizabethtown, Pa.; a son, Dr. Mitchell Feller of Sullivan's Island, SC.; two daughters, Sandy Feller Jones and her husband Randy of Media, Pa.; Beth Feller and her husband Gustavo Rojas of Secane, Pa.; four granddaughters; a sister, Margaret Kupferschmid of Cissna Park, Ill; and a brother-in-law Dennis Behrens of Sarasota, FL.

Service: A Memorial Service will be held at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church on Thursday, Feb. 28. Greeting time with the family will be from 6:30 - 7:30 PM, and the service will start at 7:30 PM.
