One of our most important goals this year is to promote the love of reading and an appreciation of books. We encourage you to try to read to your child every day as part of your daily routine. Reading books together at bedtime can be a relaxing way to calm down before going to bed. And by letting children choose the books they want to learn to read, they're more likely to enjoy reading--and a good reader is a good student!

Every month or two I will send home an order form for the Scholastic See Saw Book Club that offers inexpensive books just right for young children. You do not need to join anything! The club prices are discounted for schools and are less than suggested bookstore prices. Plus, as a bonus, our class receives free books and classroom materials every time we place an order!

If any of the books or other items interest you or your child, check the box on the order form. Return it to me with your payment in an envelope labeled with "your child's name" and "Book Order." The class order will arrive about 2 weeks after I mail it in.

Cash is always welcome, or you may write one check, for your total order, if you wish. Checks should be made payable to "Scholastic Book Clubs."

All orders are due by the date on the notice sent with the order forms.
