I attended an educational workshop where the presenter told us that singing songs is "fluff" and there are other activities that give you more "power per minute" for learning. So, I asked my twin daughters, who were in ninth grade, to try to remember a song they learned in second grade about the 50 states. In less than 10 minutes they recalled and sang this song while I typed. They said the only reason they remembered all 50 states so quickly was because they learned them in a song! Don't you just love the "power per minute" of music?
