~ Lakeview Celebrates Reading ~

An NEA Project
Read Across America on March 2!

Here's how Lakeview joined schools across the nation in celebrating Reading on Dr. Seuss' birthday!

On Friday, March 2nd, Mrs. White read Green Eggs and Ham to the whole school. Ms. Grace, the school nurse, told us how she learned to read with Dick, Jane and Sally and showed us a picture of herself when she was a child in Lakeview School!

Amy's mom, Mrs. Loftus, read The Foot Book by Dr. Seuss to the Morning Class then had the children match different kinds of feet. The children loved her drawing of "Sassy" on the chalkboard. We hope Mrs. Loftus can come to our classroom again soon!!

Mrs. Jones went to Mrs. Loftus' third grade class to read Great Day for Up written by Dr. Seuss. Then we did a crossword puzzle together about Dr. Seuss books. Sean G. read a book to the class, Oh, The Thinks You Can Think written by Dr. Seuss. It was fun reading to the third graders and seeing so many former students! Here are the members of the third grade class: Sean B., Rebecca O., Eric K., Karissa H., Maura F., Kelsey G., Kevin B., Ashlee, Teara M., Veronica C., Sarah M., Kristyn A., Robert M., William H., Nicky A., Jena K., Chris R., Brigette Mc., Emily B., Christina Z., Nick A., and Sean G.
Thanks for being such a great audience and keep reading!!
