Verda Mae Behrens Feller
Verda Mae Feller, 78, of Elizabethtown, Pa., died June 8, 2002, at The Taylor Hospice Residence in Ridley Park, Pa. A native of Cissna Park, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Sena Fischer Behrens. She married Benjamin Feller, son of the late Lucien and Katie Hari Feller of Cissna in 1946 then moved to Folsom, Pa where they resided until moving to The Masonic Home in Elizabethtown, Pa. in 2000. Ben, her husband of 55 years, died on February 8, 2002 in Florida. They were winter residents of Jensen Beach, Florida, and spent summers at Ocean View Resort in New Jersey.
Mrs. Feller was a devoted mother known for her quick sense of humor. For many years she assisted with her husband's wedding photography business. She was a superb seamstress and made costumes for the Ridley Talent Show. She was a member of the Ridley Community Chorus and belonged to a local bowling league. She loved going to yard sales and flea markets and enjoyed traveling.
She belonged to St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Woodlyn, Pa and attended Immanuel Lutheran Church in Palm City, Fla. She sang in the choir at both churches.
Survivors: a son, Dr. Mitchell Feller of Sullivan's Island, SC.; two daughters, Sandy Jones and husband Randy of Media, Pa. and Beth Feller and husband Gustavo Rojas of Secane, Pa.; four granddaughters; a brother, Dennis and wife Ginny Behrens of Sarasota, Florida; sisters-in-law, Marg Kupferschmidt of Cissna Park, Illinois and Kay Feller of Danville, Illinois.
A Memorial Service took place on June 23, 2002 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Woodlyn.
Mom's last week was spent at the Hospice Residence. We could not have asked for better nurses or more devoted people taking care of mom! Everyone was so helpful and supportive of our family. Instead of flowers, we would appreciate donations to the Hospice, in memory of Verda.
