It was a clean sweep for the Penncrest bands this weekend as they took first place in every category they entered at the Heritage Music Festival in Boston, Mass. The Concert Band, Wind Ensemble and Jazz Band all received Gold Medal Ratings as they won their divisions over an international field of bands representing a geographic range from Toronto to Florida to California. In addition, the Jazz Band and Wind Ensemble won special Adjudicator's awards, given out at the discretion of the judges to ensembles which they deemed exceptional. The Wind Ensemble also took home the Outstanding Band award as the highest scoring band in any category, and the combined high scores of all three of our bands merited the highest honor given out at the festival, the Sweepstakes award.
